The way the sun lights up the world bewilders me daily. Whether it’s as it rises or falls, the sun curves around the earth and warms every living thing. Sun rises are so beautiful and bring on the promises of a new, wonderful day but sun sets are my favorite between the two. There is much more warmth and power to sun sets, in my opinion. They make me feel as if anything is possible because the sky fills with colors I didn’t realize existed. Watching the sun set reminds me of many long, wonderful days spent with my family at the lake or staring out our current backyard after a long day of labor outdoors. There is a finality to sun sets but there is also a contentment, a job well done. Some of my favorite views are along back roads in west Texas, looking out as far as the eye can see, while the clouds fill the sky. From that perspective, the clouds look like mountains and it makes me feel like I have my very own mountain range that no one else in the world can see. Texas skies are wonderful, any time of year, any time of day, and I am so thankful to be privileged to experience them daily.
